PRODUCTION OPERATOR – Weekend Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

United Rotary Brush is an Olathe, Kansas based manufacturer of specialty industrial brushes for the airport, road construction, street sweeping and plow industries. Our Olathe, KS, manufacturing facility (I-35 & Old 56 Hwy) is looking for Production Operators 6:00 am – 6:30 am, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Our positions are a great fit for those individuals that take pride in their work to produce a quality product for our customers. Weekend Shift Premium: $3.00/hour


PRODUCTION OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY

Participate in line setup and production of high-volume brushes and brooms. Ensure machines are operating effectively and efficiently and that production needs are met through daily production efforts. Operate machines and perform light maintenance and cleaning. Perform work that is within safety and quality guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety procedures in all actions.
  • Will safely work with machinery to produce and manufacture a variety of company product lines.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment Will work with large, powerful equipment.
  • Will follow workplace and governmental guidelines to avoid/reduce the chance of injury to self and/or co-workers.
  • Will lead by example and wear proper safety gear (such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots).
  • Clean and maintain equipment in work area during and at the end of each shift.
  • Monitor machinery for efficient and effective operation. Will request maintenance assistance when machine appears to be malfunctioning.
  • Feed raw materials into production machinery.
  • Pack materials for product by following work order quantities.
  • Requires attention to detail and accurate piece counts.
  • Label product by following quality specifications.
  • Record production information on work orders.
  • Carry out basic quality and testing checks; requires attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understand deadlines and maintain awareness of the daily production output requirements and quality goals.
  • Time in and time out properly according to company policy.

Skills and Attributes

  • Will possess the ability to read and understand production work orders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Will maintain good focus on high quality production process and output and recognize when a machine makes a "wrong" sound or by noticing the quality of the finished item is not to specification.
  • Able to perform the job with limited supervision.
  • Arrives on time, stays on task, and takes pride in the quantity and quality of the work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.

Education and Experience

  • Warehouse or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Physical requirements: Will be standing on feet for a prolonged amount of time. Will need ability to bend, lift, carry, and stretch to perform work duties.
