An employee in this class operates a number of controls at job sites in order to produce concrete of required mix and slump on a continuous or intermittent basis. Work is performed under the supervision of an administrative superior
Work assignments are stable in nature and are carried out in accordance with instruction and established routines. Employees in this class are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized automotive equipment used for the job site production of concrete. Work involves conditions which can be only partially controlled and requires moderate physical effort.

An appointment in any department may be made from either one of the above-established promotional lists as deemed appropriate by the appointing authority. Candidates who pass the exam and are placed on the civil service list will be retained on the list for a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years after the establishment of the Eligible List
PREFERENCE FOR PHILADELPHIA RESIDENTS Candidates who have maintained a bona fide residence in Philadelphia for at least one year prior to the date of the civil service examination shall have priority over all other people receiving an identical test score. To receive such preference, candidates must respond to the question regarding residence later in this form. The response on this application will be used to determine eligibility for preference for residents.
Documentation of residence may be required if there is any question as to whether you meet the residency preference requirements. If an applicant does not respond to the appropriate residence question, it will be assumed that the applicant does not qualify for residence preference. Eligibility for residence preference must be determined by the date of the test administration.

CIVIL SERVICE STATUS: Presently employed by the City of Philadelphia with permanent Civil Service status and a Performance Rating of Satisfactory or higher. AND 2. EDUCATION: Ability to read and write English.
AND 3. EXPERIENCE: One year of experience as an Equipment Operator 2 OR Heavy Equipment Operator 1. Possession of a valid Class A or B - Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required.
You must submit a copy of your valid Class A or B-CDL to be approved. OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Human Resources. PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required of a position in this class.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR CERTIFICATES Possession of a valid proper class motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to the scheduled examination and during tenure of employment in the class.
