Position Purpose
This position is responsible for performing laser operations and activities involved in the production of equipment that is manufactured at the JCB North America.
Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
  • Perform typical laser cutting operations
  • Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures
  • Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point
  • Make proper set-ups for cutting operations. Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance. Including Tape Shots and lens maintenance.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations
  • Perform all dimensional inspections
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to Team Lead and/or Group Lead
  • Chart machine performance and administer routine checks/maintenance
  • Preparing raw materials for production
  • Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques to assist Fabrication in the elimination of defects
  • May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Certificate in Laser technology from accredited Tech School or Training School
  • 2 years of laser operator experience
  • Five years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing
  • Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 - 50 lbs. frequently

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Multitask while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility with work activities
  • Ability to operate bending presses, lasers and various hand tools
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
