Job Description
Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leader in the HVAC industry, has an opening for a Punching Cell Operator at our facility in Madison, GA. This is position is for our weekend shift, Friday - Sunday 6:00a.m. - 6:30p.m. (work 36 hours and get paid for 40).
For 112 years, Bard Manufacturing Company has been a family owned and operated company, leading the HVAC industry in the modular, classroom, equipment shelter, and other light commercial markets. With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia, and Mexico, we service our customers both nationwide and internationally by designing and manufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Operates punching cell machine that punches holes into sheet metal. Operator is responsible for the set-up, changing of tools, basic programming, and operating of computer equipment. Operator will insert sheet metal into the machine from a worktable or forklift. Once processed, the machine will export the sheet onto a separate worktable. Operator will then break out the attached tabs using a mallet, lift the processed sheet and separate parts from the scrap metal when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set up, change tooling as required per shop drawings, program, operate and maintain Punch Machines
  • Understand/interpret detailed blueprints (shop drawings) to perform a variety of machining operations
  • Check dimensions on finished parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments
  • Perform Quality Control using standard tools
  • Operate sit down forklift
  • Notifies supervisor of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.
  • Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
  • Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
  • Perform all other work-related duties as assigned

Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills/abilities:
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Sheet metal experience is preferred
  • Must be able to read tape measure and shop prints
  • Oral Communication Skills
  • Written Communication Skills
  • Physical Dexterity (requires the ability to lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, etc.)
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for 10 hours
  • Reading Skills
  • Time Management
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds individually and up to 75 pounds with assistance
  • Prior forklift and sheet metal knowledge preferred
  • Ability to read and understand safety procedures and work instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
