Job Title: General Machine Operator

Job Description

This role involves working as a general production worker responsible for operating and monitoring a saw machine to produce quality parts according to specifications. You will use a variety of measuring tools and follow mechanical procedures to ensure accurate dimensions and consistent output.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor saw machines to produce parts according to production specifications and schedules.
  • Set up machines for production runs, including adjusting settings, tooling, and fixtures as required.
  • Use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to verify part dimensions such as lengths, heights, and other critical measurements.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Use hand and power tools safely to support machine setup, adjustments, and minor repairs.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints or production drawings to understand part requirements and tolerances.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, ensuring they meet specified dimensions and standards.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues, irregularities, or potential equipment problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and improve processes.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to set up machines, including adjusting settings and tooling for production runs.
  • Proficiency using a tape measure to verify part sizes, including lengths and heights.
