Retail PT Weekend Only - Part Time

This rolewill include setting attractive retail displays while maintaining the service counter at Veno'sSpecialty Foods & Meats.Performing routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes is essential. This job follows instructions, and abides by all health and safety standards in the kitchen. The ability to work as a team, trustworthiness and passion for exceptional customer service are key to success with our team.This team member will ensure a positive company image byproviding courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Weekends Availability required.

Hours needed to fill Sun 8:00 am - 2:30 pm and Sat 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.Culinary training a plus
  • Strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ready to work in varied shifts, including weekends.


Responsibilities:

  1. Follow the prep list created by managers to plan duties.
  2. Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
  3. Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
  4. Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  5. Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  6. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
  7. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  8. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  9. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines, food handler required paid for by Veno's Speciality Foods & Meats.
  10. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
  11. Exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations.
  12. Organize a storefront with attractive and fresh retail displays.
  13. Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures whileadhering to safe work practices.
  14. Answer telephone calls with proper phone etiquette.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Meat Manager, Store Manager orSupervisor.
  16. Assist kitchen personnel with prep as needed.
  17. Manage cash and credit transactions.
  18. Lateral coverage for other personnel in the store when necessary.
  19. Pack, price, weigh and recommend items for customers in the display case with pleasure.
