Job Title: Visual Merchandising Designer I (Part-Time)
Position Type: Contract (5+ Months)
Location: New York, NY 10001 (Onsite)
Salary Rate: $30–32/hr (20 hours/week)


Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Visual Merchandising Designer to support the execution of retail display projects and in-store visual experiences. This role involves working closely with senior visual staff and cross-functional teams to bring design concepts to life through planograms, renderings, and physical store setups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual merchandising, retail design, and digital design tools, with the ability to manage tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities
  • Execute special visual display projects as directed by senior visual staff
  • Create and review planograms for retail layouts and merchandising strategies
  • Participate in proofing processes to ensure accuracy and quality of visual outputs
  • Develop Photoshop and 3D renderings for visual merchandising concepts
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to enhance visual assets and branding consistency
  • Assist in sourcing materials for window displays, in-store, and showroom setups
  • Support installation and execution of retail and showroom visual displays
  • Contribute to overall store design and visual merchandising initiatives

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in visual merchandising
  • Experience with PLV (Point of Sale/Point of Purchase) development in retail environments
  • Diploma or higher in Visual Merchandising or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Background in store design is preferred
