Job description

A1 is building a proactive AI smart assistant for everyday users to bring intelligence to conversations, errands, organising and workflows. Our product focuses on achieving high reliability for long-running workflows, persistent context, and real-world task completion. The system must handle multi-step reasoning, interact with external tools, and remain reliable despite non-deterministic model behavior.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing
  • Design the visual language, design system, and UI components for A1's product across web and mobile.
  • Create visual patterns that help users parse AIโ€‘generated content, distinguish system states, and understand confidence and reliability signals.
  • Design for information density and hierarchy in AI interfaces where content is dynamic, variable, and often uncertain.
  • Work with product and UX designers to translate interaction flows into polished, accessible visual designs.
  • Build and maintain a design system that supports speed, consistency, and clarity.
  • Define visual standards for error states, empty states, loading states, task states, and AIโ€‘generated output.
  • Contribute visual assets and design specs that engineers can implement accurately.
  • Make AIโ€‘heavy interfaces feel clear and structured without overwhelming users.
What You Will Need
  • Experience as a visual or UI designer with a portfolio across web or mobile products.
  • Strong skills in typography, colour, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience building or contributing to design systems.
  • Ability to design for dynamic content where AI output varies in length, format, tone, and reliability.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and how to design for legibility and contrast.
  • Comfort designing under ambiguity, with evolving product requirements.
  • Experience working closely with product and UX designers in fastโ€‘moving teams.
  • Awareness of how visual cues communicate AI system behaviour, trust, and confidence.
