Job description

Hill House Home is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Merchandising to lead our merchandising function across Women's RTW, Home, Kids & Baby, and Accessories.
This role will define and execute the merchandising vision across all channels - balancing creativity, brand storytelling, and financial performance. You'll bring a strong point of view on product, a deep understanding of the Hill House customer, and the ability to translate creative direction into commercially successful assortments.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will be accountable for driving revenue and margin, evolving our product pipeline, and building a high-performing merchandising organization to support long-term growth.
What You'll Do
Merchandising Strategy & Assortment Planning
  • Define and lead the omni-channel merchandising strategy across Women's RTW, Accessories, Home, and Kids/Baby, ensuring alignment with brand vision and financial goals
  • Develop and execute seasonal assortment strategies, balancing innovation with core franchise growth
  • Establish clear product segmentation and pricing architecture (good/better/best) across all categories
  • Identify white space opportunities through analysis of customer insights, market trends, and competitive landscape
  • Drive category expansion and new product opportunities that reinforce Hill House's lifestyle positioning
Financial Ownership & Performance
  • Own and drive top-line and bottom-line performance across all merchandising categories
  • Partner with Planning to develop and manage OTB, inventory flow, and margin targets
  • Actively analyze sales, inventory, and product performance to inform real-time assortment and pricing decisions
  • Maintain a strategic lens on SKU productivity, classification growth/decline, and channel optimization
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Design and Product Development to ensure product vision is translated into commercially viable assortments that uphold brand integrity while meeting costing targets to improve profitability and gain market share.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, E-commerce, and Creative teams to ensure key ideas and product strategies are represented and consistent across all touchpoints.
  • Align with Retail and Visual Merchandising teams to ensure product strategies are supported and amplified with impactful in-store presentations that cut through to the consumer.
  • Act as a key partner to Wholesale accounts, ensuring assortments are aligned and optimized by channel.
Brand & Product Vision
  • Champion a clear and differentiated Hill House product POV, ensuring consistency across all categories
  • Lead the development of iconic product franchises and hero styles that drive repeat business and brand recognition
  • Ensure assortments reflect the brand's elevated, feminine, and lifestyle-driven aesthetic
  • Translate creative direction into market-relevant, high-performing product stories
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing merchandising and buying team providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure productivity and achievement of goals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation across teams
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and development opportunities to build future leaders
  • Empower cross-functional partners to act as the leader of their individual departments.
  • Represent merchandising in senior leadership forums, presenting strategies, performance, and opportunities with clarity and conviction

Who You Are
  • 10-15+ years of merchandising experience, including senior leadership in fashion or lifestyle, preferably within a high-growth, vertically integrated Women's fashion retail brand
  • Proven track record of driving category growth, assortment strategy, and financial performance
  • Deep expertise across Women's RTW, with strong understanding of Accessories, Home, and/or Kids categories
  • Strong taste level and brand sensibility, with experience in elevated or lifestyle brands
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate data into clear merchandising strategies
  • Exceptional cross-functional partner, with experience working closely with Design, Planning, and Marketing.
  • Experienced people leader with a passion for team development and mentorship that encourages an open leadership style.
  • Strong communicator and storyteller, able to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Operates with a high level of ownership, agility, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • A roll-up-the-sleeves demeanor with a positive approach to dealing with challenges.
