Genuse, Inc., corporate owner of Plato’s Closet Raleigh, Brier Creek and Cary, is seeking applicants for the position of Store Manager , Plato’s Closet Cary, located at 111 Crossroads Blvd, Cary, NC.

Plato’s Closet is a chain of over 500 stores in the United States and Canada that buys and sells gently used clothing for teens and young adults. Our used clothing stores offer a huge selection of current, trendy styles as well as every day basics - all at up to 70% off retail prices. Plato’s Closet, a member of the Winmark Corporation’s family of companies, was recently ranked Number 1 by Forbes Magazine in their list of the 50 Best Franchises in America.

The Store Manager is responsible for all store operations, including recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, loss prevention, customer service, merchandising and social media marketing. The Store Manager reports directly to a District Manager who reports to the corporate owners at Genuse. Supporting the Plato’s Closet Cary Store Manager is an Assistant Manager, approximately three to four Shift Managers and a staff of 10 to 15 buyers and sales associates.

Applicants for this leadership position should possess the following skills, interests and qualifications:

  • Proven success as a Manager or Assistant Manager, preferably in a retail clothing and customer service environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-service environment where you interacted with the public on a daily basis.
  • An understanding of and passion for current fashion trends in the teen and young adult primary demographic (14 to 24 years old).

The Store Manager implements and leads the youthful culture of the store and sets the standard for fashion knowledge, merchandising, personal style, professionalism, and positive, upbeat attitude.

Salary is between $38,000 to $48,000 a year depending on the candidate’s skills and experience. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position, and will require some evening and weekend shifts.
