Aksia is an alternative assets specialist, providing bespoke investment solutions for institutional investors globally. Our business provides clients with advisory, investment management, and research services across private credit, private equity, real assets, and hedge funds. As of January 31st, 2026, Aksia advises on over $331bn and manages $36bn of client capital.
Position Overview
Aksia is seeking an Associate to join our Private Markets Valuation team. Our valuation team is responsible for conducting in-depth asset valuation analysis and ongoing monitoring for a variety of alternative and illiquid investment types, including private credit, private equity, and hedge funds. This position will have a focus on daily and quarterly valuation activities within Aksia's private markets products. The incumbent will also collaborate daily with Aksia's global Risk, Investment, and Operations professionals and clients. Ideal candidates will be entrepreneurial, highly self-motivated, and comfortable working in an ever-evolving environment.
This position can be based in Aksia's New York City office, and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Operating and maintaining financial models for daily pricing, discounted cash flow, market multiple, and market transaction analyses
  • Performing valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  • Reporting and presenting analyses to variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Attending relevant industry events to broaden your knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry

Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in alternative asset valuation or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in valuation models and other financial modeling including: DCF, comparable company, and other intangible asset models
  • Understanding of Private Credit and/or Private Equity valuation methodologies and applications
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel, Power Point & Word; VBA experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
  • High degree of personal initiative, integrity, and commercial acumen

The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000, which is specific to California and may change in the future. Aksia provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor.
