The Travel Administrator I shall provide Defense Travel System (DTS) Help Desk and administrative support to Strategic Systems Programs' Management Information and Support Services Branch (SP16).

Responsibilities
  • Serve as subject matter expert on-site with responsibility for help desk operations, resolution of travel issues via helpdesk and face-to-face, accuracy of travel database(s), tables and certifications, and sustainment training requirements. 
  • Research the Federal Travel Regulations to help resolve employee issues and complex problems associated with travel.
  • Coordinate development of traveler profiles, organizational data, reporting, budgetary, and document flow procedures in DTS.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to troubleshooting problems, developing processes for reporting, tracking issues and problems registered as help desk tickets, classifying help desk tickets, assigning them for corrective action, determining the root cause of problems as well as the process for verifying that ticket problems are resolved.
  • Provide travel administration support for the Defense Travel System (DTS), including walking users through document processing steps and providing troubleshooting assistance.
  • Support and process DTS order requests received from clients.
  • Input orders into DTS for various trip types and process changes received for order completion.
  • Assist client with collection and preparing form DD 1351-2 vouchers.
  • Input DD1351-2 vouchers into DTS for traveler payment and quality control check vouchers prior to command approvals.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned to the DTS Help Desk.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possess an Active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Transportation or Logistics management, Preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in DTS should include DTS travel documents, Non-DTS Entry Agents (NDEAs) functions, cancellation procedures, constructed travel, FY crossover, Group Travel, Itinerary changes, Routing lists, Authorizations, Vouchers, and Government Travel Credit Card program (Individual and Centrally Billed Accounts)
  • Previous experience supporting the Department of the Navy, preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills used in transportation management systems or other database hardware and software.
  • Possess communication skills to effectively interface with senior military/Civilian officials, managers, and customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written, phoned and emailed repair requests.
  • Ability to answer phone and retrieve consistent data for Work Order development.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to speak, communicate and write effectively.
  • Ability to produce, interpret and communicate reports.
  • Possess above average computer skills including Microsoft Office tools.
