Position Description:

Join our collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company in an Autonomous Training Specialist role, where you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of training and drive innovation across the organization!

 Our technology division is growing, and we are looking for a Training Specialist. The  successful candidate will engage with several key internal and external stakeholders to  initiate and support safe responsible mining operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring: Independently oversee the training and development of team members, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure trainees meet performance expectations with minimal supervision.
  • Leadership Application: Apply advanced leadership skills to drive the execution of training plans, mine plans, and improve operational performance, ensuring safe, environmentally sound, and efficient gold production.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate autonomously with key stakeholders across departments to achieve objectives, while maintaining a focus on effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Training Development: Design and implement a variety of training methods, including individual training, group instruction, workshops, and demonstrations, tailored to meet organizational needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Candidate must have experience in training and development, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to stay up to date with evolving technology, OEM standards, and industry systems.
  • Competency Based Training: Lead the implementation of Competency-Based Training across all NGM properties, ensuring ongoing improvement and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Standardization & Collaboration: Assist in standardizing procedures, guidelines, and task observations across the site, working closely with other divisions and NGM representatives.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Schedule and carry out competency assessments, observations, and evaluations to ensure team members meet and exceed job performance standards.
  • Training Documentation & Compliance: Manage training records and associated documentation, ensuring compliance with site repository directives and regulatory standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with both internal management systems and local regulations, proactively addressing any regulatory challenges.
  • Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Work independently to solve complex problems by collaborating with subject matter experts and developing sustainable solutions for training and operational challenges.

Qualifications:

  •  Five (5) years of experience in surface mining and heavy equipment operation with demonstrated leadership ability and success in relevant technical assignment required
  • Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others required
  • Experience in training, scheduling and facilitation required
  • Effective time management to organize and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced, demanding environment required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to promote and motivate safety behaviors and lead by example required
  • Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required
  • Proven safe work record required
  • Demonstrate and maintain good attendance and performance records required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all essential function of this role required
  • Thorough knowledge of MSHA, State, and ATF regulations preferred
  • MSHA Instructor Certification (blue card) preferred
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze and confidently present data in a manner to promote ideas and opportunities to lead improvement preferred
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Visio) preferred
