Job Title: Molding Tooling Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Molding Tooling Engineer with 8+ years of experience in injection molding and tooling engineering, preferably in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, validating, qualifying, and improving injection molds, supporting production, and ensuring tooling meets quality, performance, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize injection molds, tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and participate in design evaluations.
- Validate and qualify molds using standard processes (FIR/FPR or equivalent).
- Support mold trials, sampling, qualification, and final product approval.
- Troubleshoot tooling and molding issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work with tooling and production teams to repair, modify, and improve molds.
- Recommend and implement cost-effective tooling design improvements.
- Prepare and maintain tooling documentation and engineering reports.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling meets quality and production requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in tooling engineering, injection molding, or mold design.
- Experience in the Medical Device industry is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Injection molding machines and hot runner systems
- Thermoplastics and thermoset molding
- Mold design, validation, qualification, and troubleshooting
- Mold flow analysis and tooling optimization
- Experience with mold repair and continuous process improvement.
- Proficiency in:
- Creo (Pro/Engineer) with Windchill
- SolidWorks
- Microsoft Office
- Good understanding of injection molding machine operations.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
