Job description

Tool & Die Engineer

Job Summary
The Tool and Die Engineer supports the launch, improvement, and optimization of dies and tooling automation within the facility. This role provides technical expertise to Engineering, Die Maintenance, Production, and Quality teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe tooling operations.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Support engineering with CAD data, tooling, and automation development
  • Develop, implement, and train teams on preventive and corrective tooling maintenance
  • Lead downtime analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions
  • Support tooling launches, engineering changes, and automation integration
  • Evaluate new and existing tooling; support program tracking and new work reviews
  • Lead continuous improvement, Kaizen activities, and True Put improvements on press lines
  • Maintain die documentation, maintenance plans, KPIs, and spare parts inventory
  • Coordinate with contractors for external tooling repairs
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and ISO standards

Qualifications

  • 10+ years Tool & Die experience; Journeyman card required
  • 4+ years automotive tooling experience preferred
  • Experience with large metal stamping dies and robotic welding
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and CATIA V6; strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and multitasking abilities
