Job description

Position Summary:
Supports manufacturing operations by developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures for mechanical and electro-mechanical components, products, equipment, and machinery. Works closely with Mechanical Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet customer and engineering specifications.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process routers for new and existing products
  • Design, specify, and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and gauges to support production, testing, and quality inspection
  • Partner with Mechanical Engineering on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews for new product designs
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to improve throughput, reduce cycle time, and lower manufacturing cost
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing defects, warranty returns, and process nonconformances
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype through production ramp
  • Analyze tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, and measurement data to resolve fit, form, and function issues on production parts
  • Program, set up, and support CNC machines, mills, lathes, and other fabrication equipment used in production
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma) across the manufacturing floor
  • Evaluate and implement ECR's/ECN's on the shop floor and update BOMs, routers, and work instructions accordingly
  • Support Operations on the manufacturing floor with troubleshooting, training, and process documentation
  • Participate in product team environments related to mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing process design
  • Interact with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from a four-year college or university
  • 1 - 3+ years of related manufacturing, quality, or test engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or Creo Parametric
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining, mills, lathes, and standard shop/fabrication equipment
  • Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem solving (8D, 5-Why, fishbone)
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods
  • Self-learning, task oriented, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, outstanding organizational skills
  • Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results; works well in group and cross-functional environments

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $72,900 - $109,000.
