Job description

John Deere Ag Technician Student - Virtual Program
About Us:

Purpose:
Hired as a full-time Virtual Ag Technician with Gooseneck Implement with the intention of enrolling in the John Deere Ag Tech Virtual Program through Arkansas State University-Beebe. Employees selected for this program must begin full-time employment with Gooseneck Implement at least two months prior to the first day of classes in August 2027. Employees in this program work full-time in a Gooseneck Implement service department while completing the John Deere Ag Tech Virtual Program concurrently. The program includes one day of online coursework each week and four days of hands-on work each week in the service department. Upon graduation, the employee may receive a permanent assignment at a Gooseneck Implement location other than the store where they completed their training.
Compensation:
$24 starting for first year
$26 for second year
Full benefit package including health, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, supplemental coverages.
Responsibilities:
• Actively participates in project assignments centered around service-related activities at the dealership.
• Employee will work at dealer location full-time while attending school online through Arkansas State University - Beebe.
• Works with and shadows selected personnel to gain experience in service department.
• Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Meets the admission requirements set by Arkansas State University - Beebe.
• Pursuing AAS Degree in John Deere Tech program.
• Maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average while in the program.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• Valid driver's license is required.
