Design the Parts That Help Racers Win
At AFCO, you'll help develop components used on race cars competing across the country. From concept through production, you'll design products that improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
If you enjoy solving mechanical problems, working closely with manufacturing, and seeing your designs become real products, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using Creo.
- Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of material.
- Apply GD&T, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and sound engineering principles to develop robust, manufacturable products.
- Develop new products and improve existing designs while leveraging existing product platforms, components, and design standards when appropriate.
- Design complex assemblies with proper tolerancing, fit, function, durability, and serviceability in mind.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and production launches.
- Design tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
- Work directly with our CNC machine shop, fabrication teams, production personnel, and quality team to optimize designs and solve manufacturing challenges.
- Investigate product and manufacturing issues using structured root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Drive projects forward by identifying risks, removing roadblocks, and collaborating across departments to ensure successful execution.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- 07 years of engineering experience.
- Experience with Creo and mechanical product design.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, materials, and mechanical design fundamentals.
- Familiarity with CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of DFM principles, tolerance stack-up, and design validation methods.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Desire to learn, contribute, and become a trusted technical resource.
Motorsports experience is a plus but not required.
Why You'll Like It Here
This isn't a job where your designs disappear into a computer.
You'll work closely with engineers, machinists, fabricators, assemblers, and quality professionals to develop products from concept through production. You'll gain hands-on experience, take on meaningful responsibility early, and see the products you helped create being used by racers across the country.
Ready to Build Something That Matters?
If you're looking for an engineering career where your work becomes real products and your ideas can make a difference, we'd love to hear from you. Bring your curiosity. Bring your work ethic. Bring your desire to learn.
We'll provide the opportunity to build products racers trustone part at a time.
