Position Summary

As a Ticket Taker, you will be the first point of contact for event guests, responsible for ensuring a smooth entry process while providing excellent customer service. Your role involves verifying tickets, guiding guests, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. A Ticket Taker plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for all event guests.ย 

This role pays an hourly rate of $11.00 - $11.50.ย

About the Venue

Santander Arena, located in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, is a versatile venue that serves as the home arena for the Reading Royals, the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Santander Arena has hosted an array of live events including concerts, Reading Royals Hockey, and other family friendly events attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Ticket Verification: Check and validate tickets at the entrance, ensuring each ticket is legitimate and corresponds to the event.
  • Customer Service: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and provide information about the event and venue as needed.
  • Access Control: Monitor and control the entry points to ensure that only authorized guests enter the event.
  • Crowd Management: Assist in directing the flow of guests to prevent congestion and ensure a smooth entry process.
  • Problem Resolution: Address any ticket-related issues or discrepancies promptly and courteously, seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary.
  • Venue Knowledge: Stay informed about the event layout, seating arrangements, and facilities to assist guests effectively.
  • Safety and Security: Report any suspicious activity or security concerns to the appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Assistance: Help guests with special needs or requirements, ensuring they have a positive experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other event staff to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive guest experience.
  • Maintain Order: Ensure guests follow venue rules and guidelines to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.ย 
Qualifications
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Previous experience in a customer service-based industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience within a sports, entertainment, or related field is preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays required.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions with proper gear including heat, cold, rain, snow.
  • Extensive time spent with moderate to loud noises.
  • Frequent bending, standing for long periods of time and walking of the building.ย
