Job description

Position: Usher/Ticket Taker
Department: Guest Services
Reports to: Manager, Guest Services
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Union: Teamsters
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to help create a positive event experience for all guests at Target Center by offering superior, individualized service and support. Ushers are expected to work cohesively with all employees of the Target Center to maintain a superior level of customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastically greet guests and provide event and arena information.

  • Escort guests to their sections/seats, frequently when the arena bowl is dark.

  • Enforce facility policies (i.e., no smoking, no reentry) by monitoring stairs and sections.

  • Proactively approach guests who may have questions, difficulties, or complaints.

  • Creatively resolve guests' troubles up to the level where intervention by a Supervisor is required.

  • Identify and respond to emergencies, and involve Security or Supervisors as appropriate.

  • Remain calm and direct guests to the designated area of safety in the event of an emergency.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previously demonstrated strong customer service experience

  • Must be able to communicate clearly, have a friendly disposition, and a smile.

  • Candidates must be able to stay calm in a stressful and fast-paced environment of the arena.

  • Experience in handling conflict in a friendly and effective manner


Additional Comments

  • This a part time position based on the Target Center events calendar. Hours of work can include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • This is an IBT Local 638 union-represented position.
