What is a ticket taker?

As a ticket taker, you collect tickets in a movie theatre, theme park, sports stadium, or event venue. Your primary job duties include making sure that only paying patrons are admitted to the event and directing patrons to seating areas, concession stands, and exits. During the event, you may be asked to help with seating. You may also be asked to count the number of tickets collected. Ticket takers get a lot of questions from patrons, so excellent people skills and experience in customer service are essential qualifications in this career.
