THE ROLE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The usher/ticket taker position has the most interaction with our guests during events, and as such must provide excellent customer service and exceed our guests' expectations. The usher position is responsible for properly checking guests' tickets as they enter the seating areas, concourses, and other areas of the facility. The usher must properly direct guests to their seats and to other services around the facility, including restrooms, concessions, first-aid, and other event-specific locations as directed by the Event Manager. The Usher is responsible for their assigned area and is charged with observing that all guests in their area are following all policies and code of conduct requirements. The usher is also responsible for providing general assistance and customer service to guests as needed, in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Greet and interact with all guests in a welcoming and friendly manner.
  • Check the guest's ticket, and ensure the guest is in the proper seating section.
  • Direct guests to their ticketed seats, or to the appropriate seating section.
  • Ensure that only guests with the proper ticket are sitting in the assigned section.
  • Monitor seating area for guests who may not be in the correct area.
  • Keep aisles, concourses, and stairs clear of guests while the event is in progress.
  • Answer guest questions with regard to the event and facility, e.g., location of particular section, restrooms, concession stand, first-aid, etc.
  • Handle complaints, disturbances, or related problems with guests. Forward the complaint to the supervisor or Event Manager, as applicable.
  • Ensure guests are following all policies and code of conduct requirements.
  • Report issues or violations to the supervisor or Event Manager.
  • Inspect assigned work area before and during the event, looking for safety hazards, facility issues, housekeeping needs, personal injuries, etc. Report issues to the supervisor or Event Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Event Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm.   • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to walk up and down stairs without a handrail.
  • Must be proactive in assisting all guests with the highest level of customer service.

  • Able to see and read small-sized text on tickets (paper & electronic).
  • Must have access to the internet for scheduling & email communication.

COMPENSATION
$22.00 per hour
WORKING CONDITIONS
Location: On Site at Pechanga Arena, San Diego
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is a part-time, hourly, event-based position.
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
