Jurassic Jungle Explorer at the Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life Job Description

Wage: $11-11.50/hour

Shift: Part-time, average of 15/week, includes weekends and holidays. Closed Sundays.

Summary: As an Explorer at Jurassic Jungle at Thanksgiving Point, you will play a key role in creating a world class experience for our guests. You will welcome, guide, and engage our guestsโ€™ curiosity as they play, learn and explore in our brand new five-story, interactive playground adventure! You will gain valuable experience and essential skills in customer service, retail, and guest management. As you facilitate these learning experiences, you will find increased compassion, curiosity, and confidence in yourself. Responsibilities:

  • Interact with and engage visitors of all ages to ignite transformative family learning, guide exploration, and encourage critical thinking.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of our guests as they experience Jurassic Jungle.

  • Help facilitate guest celebrations in one of our 4 themed party rooms.

  • Provide exceptional guest service by monitoring and assisting guests with compassion.

  • Facilitate inquiry-based learning experiences with curiosity.

  • Collaborate with coworkers.

  • Help maintain an orderly, safe, clean and orderly environment for our team and guests.

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Thanksgiving Point venues and activities and communicate these effectively to our guests.

  • Model curiosity to create positive, meaningful experiences.

  • Welcome and include all guests as they are.

  • Adhere to all rules and regulations.

  • Exemplify Thanksgiving Pointโ€™s mission, values and policies with compassion, curiosity and confidence.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and great customer service, with collaborative approach to the workplace, and ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

  • Comfortable working indoors and around crowds.

  • Ability to work patiently in high-activity, high-energy, noisy environments.

  • Enthusiastic and can-do approach.

  • Comfort with initiating conversations and exploring with our guests including enforcing safety procedures with compassion, curiosity, and confidence.

  • Physical demands may include lifting 25 lbs., climbing stairs, bending, standing for extended periods of time, and manipulating small objects.

  • At least 16 years old.

  • Must pass a background check.
