The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst, People Analytics and Data is to provide analytical expertise and deliver reporting solutions for our People/HR function and business leaders. Reporting to the Director of People Systems, this role will be part of a collaborative HRIS team that supports PDS's People technology portfolio, including Workday HCM, Cornerstone (Learning and Talent), ICIMS (ATS), and Anaplan (Incentive Comp). As a Senior Analyst, you will act as the subject matter expert in Workday HCM reporting as well as the development of reports and dashboards in support of our People analytics roadmap. If you are passionate about data and analytics, you will be able to use your initiative, curiosity and expertise to make an impact to the business.
Responsibilities
  • Ownership of day-to-day reporting deliverables and operational support of report requests, inquiries and tickets. Produce and deliver standard and customized People reports (monthly, quarterly and annual), using Workday and Power BI primarily.
  • Proactively develops new and improved Workday HCM dashboards to employees, managers, and People/HR team members.
  • Facilitates the definition and development of business and predictive KPIs/metrics across the People/HR function and recommends the most effective tools for delivery.
  • Partners with various internal stakeholders to understand and define business problems and issues, analyzing data and presenting insights and dashboards to stakeholders that will drive decisions on people.
  • Analyzes and interprets data using various techniques, from simple data aggregation to complex statistical analysis.
  • Summarizes insights and present findings to a range of audiences, including executives, business leaders, hiring managers and People/HR team members. Able to build the story behind the data and develop compelling visualizations and presentations.
  • Understands and analyzes end-to-end processes and underlying data from multiple sources to identify data inconsistencies and make recommendations. Works with IT and Data Warehouse team to improve data integrity and advance KPI/metrics definition and reporting.
  • Participates in and leads data/analytics projects, involved in planning and scoping, requirements and specifications development, prototyping and playback, testing, and deployment (including change management tasks such as communications and training).
  • Stays up to date with latest industry research and leading practices in People/HR analytics and actively participates in Workday Community and other forums. Continually identifies opportunities to innovate and evolve PDS's people analytics roadmap.
  • Provides reporting & analytics training and guidance to end-users.
  • Adheres to data privacy and access policies, complies with security and system change control/governance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT/MIS, Data Science, Statistics, Math or related fields, or +5 years of professional experience in lieu of degree.
  • 6+ years of experience including 4+ years in a People/HR data analytics and reporting capacity, with in-depth knowledge of People/HR reporting and data, including HR, Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, Learning, and Talent.
  • In-depth experience of building and maintaining advanced Workday HCM reports and dashboards, including calculated fields and advanced Matrix and composite reports.
  • Experience with integrating a core HRMS application to a data warehouse/data lake and consolidating data from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated experience in all phases of a project, including SDLC or SCRUM/Agile methodologies and roadmap/tactical development for a phased People/HR analytics strategy.
  • Experience and familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau.

Preferred
  • Experience in a multi-regional healthcare, retail, or dental company.
  • Master's Degree in Business, IT/MIS, Data Science, Statistics or related field.
  • Workday Pro Certified (HCM Core, HCM Reporting) and exposure to Workday Prism and Discovery Boards.
  • Advanced Power BI skills.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking, Learning and Talent systems and data.
  • Knowledge or exposure to Python or R for advanced data analysis, predictive modelling, and inferential statistics.

  • Professionalism and judgement with an attention to detail, ability to prioritize and make decisions on appropriate methods/tools and reporting deliverables.
