We're seeking motivated individuals to join our growing solar energy team for a seasonal temporary position with excellent potential for full-time advancement.
SunCommon's Solar Installers work as part of a crew to ensure a joyful customer experience by building quality projects in a safe and efficient manner.
Safety - for our team, our customers, and their property - is our primary priority. The Solar Installer is expected to follow all safety protocols and keep up with advancements in PV and other relevant technologies.
The position requires a person who is flexible, eager to learn, and a skilled communicator. The Solar Installer will spend the majority of their time working on-site with our customers; significant driving across the state is part of the job. A dedication to taking the best possible care of our customers and colleagues is essential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Solar Installer will:
Install photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions.
Accurately layout and install solar racking systems per design on ground and roof mounted systems.
Mount and wire PV Modules per specified design.
Install required labels on solar system components and hardware.
Work collaboratively with an installation team on roof- and ground-mounted PV systems.

Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Experience in construction, electrical and/or solar industry.
Ability to troubleshoot, think on their feet, and be flexible.
Experience running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment

Safety Focus. Must be committed to safe working practices, knowledge of OSHA safety standards preferred.

Physical requirements
Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs, bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb ladders and work in varying weather conditions.
Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Ability to work at heights - ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and roofs.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Flexibility to travel throughout our region, including long hours of driving.
