Job description

Outbound Referral Specialist (Short-Term Contract)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Outbound Referral Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between patients, primary care providers, and specialists.
Your primary focus will be managing a high-volume queue to track outstanding patient referrals, ensuring continuous patient care, and obtaining vital clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Queue Management: Efficiently navigate and clear a backlogged queue of patient referrals.
  • Patient Outreach: Contact patients to verify if they have completed their scheduled specialist appointments.
  • Provider Communication: Contact specialist offices directly to request and obtain consult notes, lab results, and medical reports.
  • Documentation & Reporting: * Update Electronic Medical Records (EMR) with accurate status notes.
    • Document instances where a patient refuses an appointment and route those notes back to the primary care provider.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines regarding patient privacy and health information.

Requirements & Qualifications
Required:
  • Prior experience in healthcare Referrals or hands-on Clinical Experience.
  • Strong telephonic communication skills with comfort handling high-volume outbound calls to both patients and provider offices.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a metric-driven environment.

Preferred:
  • Experience utilizing eClinicalWorks (eCW) or other Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly following standard care coordinator training.
