Temporary Clinical Research Contracting Support - OCR Legal

OCR Legal seeks temporary support to assist with a high-volume clinical research contracting backlog. This temporary role will support the review, drafting, negotiation, tracking, and processing of clinical research-related agreements under the direction of OCR Legal leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with first-pass review, drafting, and redlining of clinical research agreements, including CTAs, CDAs/NDAs, amendments, work orders/task orders, DUAs, and other related agreements.
  • Help move agreements toward execution by following up with internal and external stakeholders, performing edits, incorporating comments, and preparing documents for further review or signature.
  • Maintain accurate status updates and documentation in applicable tracking systems and shared files.
  • Support backlog reduction by handling assigned contracting tasks in an organized, timely, and professional manner.
  • Apply OCR Legal templates, standard positions, playbooks, and guidance documents when reviewing and revising agreements.
  • Perform other related contracting and administrative support tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Penn clinical research contracting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, or supporting clinical research agreements.
  • Familiarity with Penn clinical research systems, processes, templates, and contracting workflows preferred.
  • Strong written communication, organization, judgment, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while appropriately escalating legal, regulatory, operational, or policy issues.

Temporary Nature of Position

This is a temporary position intended to provide interim support for OCR Legal's clinical research contracting backlog. The position is expected to be limited in duration and assigned based on departmental need.
