JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Director - IT Delivery leads, develops, and empowers a team of IT delivery professionals who serve as the primary interface between the IT organization and key business stakeholders. The Associate Director provides strategic guidance and coaching to enable team members to convert business needs into scalable technology solutions, strengthen stakeholder partnerships, and achieve measurable business results. This role aligns IT activities with organizational objectives, ensures operational efficiency, and maintains high standards in technology delivery and governance. The Associate Director is accountable for setting clear goals, driving performance, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

IT Delivery & Execution

  • Standardize delivery processes, templates, tools, and reporting across delivery managers and analysts.
  • Own the IT Delivery intake process, including demand assessment, sizing, capacity alignment, and readiness for technical review.
  • Monitor end-to-end delivery performance, proactively manage cross-team dependencies, and drive consistent risk, issue, and schedule management across all IT initiatives.
  • Leads IT Delivery governance reviews to ensure adherence to project management, technical, and change management standards.
  • Oversee IT functional portfolios to ensure timely, on-budget completion and achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, continuous improvement, and innovation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT services.

Business Partnership & Strategic Alignment

  • Oversees and guides team members who serve as primary liaisons between assigned functions and IT, ensuring requirements and priorities are translated into actionable plans and scalable solutions.
  • Serve as the escalation point for PMO, Product Management, Architecture, Security, Engineering, and functional business leaders to resolve blockers and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Directs and supports the team in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, establishing clear outcomes, and driving alignment to business needs and priorities.
  • Ensures alignment between functional strategies and IT initiatives, identifying opportunities where technology can advance business goals, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Partner with IT Communications and IT Training teams to define user readiness, adoption needs, and change impacts for initiatives across the IT portfolio.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT delivery managers and Analyst, set clear goals, manage workload distribution, provide coaching, and capability development.
  • Oversee the IT Delivery team structure, ensuring optimal workload allocation, targeted coaching, and ongoing capability development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the IT delivery function.
  • Drive the evolution of the IT Delivery operating model, including the shift toward Agile Delivery Leads and modern delivery practices.
  • Promote professional growth and ensure the team understands core priorities, key processes, and collaborates effectively with stakeholders.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field; advanced degree preferred, or equivalent practical experience

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in IT delivery, including at least 5 years in a people leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex IT delivery programs from intake through implementation, including scope, schedule, budget, and outcomes management.
  • Experience leading global technology implementations, including third-party/vendor engagement and delivery in complex, multi-region environments.
  • Proficiency with delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and strong cross-functional leadership across product, engineering, security, architecture, and business partners.
  • Experience partnering with business functions and IT organizations in large, matrixed environments.
  • Strong understanding of change management, communications, training, and user adoption considerations required for successful technology delivery.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems including HCM platforms, CRM systems, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders across a wide range of technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with executive presence and ability to influence across functions.

Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $220,000 to $250,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
