What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced, results-driven Aftermarket M5 Operations Manager with a strong background in Composites Manufacturing, Operations and Engineering to join our team. This role is a key leadership position responsible for optimizing aftermarket operations, ensuring delivery excellence, and driving continuous improvement initiatives for large composite products. The successful candidate will oversee M5-level operations, including managing resources, meeting customer requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support our aerospace and defense business units. The ideal candidate will also possess a deep understanding of P&L management, project management, and expertise in SAP systems to ensure financial and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee aftermarket M5 operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution, with a focus on composite materials and processes.
  • P&L Management: Manage profit and loss responsibilities for the aftermarket operations, ensuring budget adherence, forecasting, cost efficiency, and revenue growth.
  • Performance Management: Ensure achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
  • SAP Expertise: Utilize SAP for production planning, inventory management, financial tracking, and reporting to ensure operational transparency and efficiency.
  • Customer Support: Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to aftermarket activities and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product reliability.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders, including engineering, supply chain, quality, and program management, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to RTX policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Advanced degree and 7+ years of experience in Military, Manufacturing, Business Operations Management, Engineering, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry; OR Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate's degree and 12+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 14+ years of relevant industry experience
  • 4+ years of personnel management experience, ideally within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Proven ability to lead mentoring, coaching, developing talent and motivate teams to achieve business goals.
  • Demonstrated experience in P&L management, with a track record of delivering financial performance.
  • Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
  • Aftermarket Aerospace and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience
  • Experience in composites manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, SAP, MRP materials management, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
