Shift Details & Requirements
This role operates within a 24/7 environment, offering a unique 4-day work week structure. We currently have 4 openings across the following 10-hour shifts (all times AZ MST):
* **Front Half Days:** Sun - Wed (4:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
* **Front Half Nights:** Sun - Wed (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
* **Back Half Days:** Wed - Sat (4:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
* **Back Half Nights:** Wed - Sat (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
As a Technical Operations Lead, you won't just be a manager; you'll be a critical architect of reliability, directly impacting the performance and safety of an advanced autonomous fleet. This is an incredible opportunity to leverage your leadership and technical prowess to ensure seamless operations, drive continuous improvement, and bring next-generation vehicles to life. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining high fleet uptime, directly contributing to the success and expansion of groundbreaking autonomous services.
What You'll Be Doing
This pivotal role places you as the "brain" of service operations, leading a dedicated team and ensuring the robust health of a sophisticated autonomous fleet. You will:
  • Lead a High-Impact Team: Supervise, coach, and provide performance feedback to a team of Troubleshooting Experts, leading daily stand-ups and ensuring seamless shift handoffs.
  • Command Incident Response: Oversee the triage and categorization of technical failures, serving as the point of escalation for high-severity events to ensure clear documentation and rapid resolution.
  • Monitor Fleet Health Proactively: Utilize advanced dashboards to identify critical trends during vehicle calibration, launch, and on-road operations.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software, hardware, and advanced AI engineering teams to bridge the gap between short-term field mitigations and long-term design improvements.
  • Engineer Operational Processes: Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to optimize ticket quality and response times.
  • Conduct Technical Deep Dives: Query logs, validate hypotheses, and test new features/fixes to refine vehicle behavior and proactively mitigate regressions across the fleet.

What You Bring
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in automotive, robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or a related high-tech industry, with a strong focus on technical operations or fleet reliability.
  • Leadership:** At least 1-2 years of direct supervisory experience or leading technical shifts in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Technical Toolkit: Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and CRM platforms.
  • Composure Under Pressure: A proven ability to maintain focus, professionalism, and effective decision-making during rapidly evolving incidents and escalations.
  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues for both technical teams and executive leadership.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Experience with SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Familiarity with PagerDuty for incident management.
  • Proficiency with Command Line interfaces.
  • Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.

Travel: Occasional travel (up to 3 times per year) to key operational hubs for hands-on training and vehicle exposure will be required.
