Job Summary:
Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. As a Technical Game Designer on EA SPORTS Madden NFL Football, you’ll be a hands-on creator who builds new presentation features and complex systems, collaborating closely with design, engineering, and content teams to prototype and implement gameplay features.
Responsibilities:
• Work with designers, engineers and other creatives to develop the vision and innovate on compelling gameplay systems.
• Implement and drive gameplay systems and/or modes from concept to ship quality.
• Align and collaborate with multiple disciplines and communicate the vision of gameplay features.
• Ensure a high-quality release by bug fixing, balancing, and creating a fun gameplay experience.
• Pitch ideas, provide feedback and rapid iteration with the team
• Quick prototype building of new features
• Create robust scripting-driven implementations (logic, state machines, event flows, data setup) that are scalable and maintainable.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with scripting languages (such as Lua, Python, Javascript, and/or other scripting languages).
• Worked on multiple shipped titles as a Technical Designer.
• Passion for crafting gameplay systems, mechanics and game modes.
• Familiarity, passion and knowledge of American Football and football products.
• Expertise in comprehending the game design process, specifically with game mechanics and design theory.
• Experience with content-driven game engines (Unreal, Frostbite, Unity, GtkRadiant).
• Ability to read and understand C++.
• Experience developing and in a multiplayer live service environment.
