ByDesign is looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist (Hybrid) to join our Overland Park, KS team. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and improve documentation and training materials supporting ByDesign’s software solutions. You’ll partner cross-functionally to create clear, scalable content that enhances user adoption, onboarding, and support efficiency while aligning processes and standards across the platform portfolio.

This is a W-2 position. Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment authorization (such as an H-1B, O-1, or other employment-based visa) to continue working in the United States.

Work Location:

  • This position works a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/2 days work from home) in our Overland Park, Kansas office. Candidates must reside in the Kansas City metropolitan area, or be willing to relocate without assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and maintain user guides, process documentation, FAQs, and reference materials
  • Ensure client-facing documentation remains accurate, current, and easy to use
  • Support documentation consistency across company platforms
  • Develop and maintain training materials, tutorials, onboarding content, and self-service learning resources
  • Help build and organize a centralized training library for clients and internal teams
  • Partner with Product and Development teams to create release notes and document product updates
  • Help integrate training and support materials within software platforms
  • Create in-system help content such as walkthroughs, tooltips, and guided resources
  • Develop internal training guides for employees on company systems and processes
  • Create onboarding materials for new hires across departments
  • Maintain client-specific documentation to support customer service and issue resolution
  • Research and recommend tools to improve documentation and knowledge management
  • Organize content repositories for easy access, searchability, and long-term maintenance
  • Identify documentation gaps and recommend process improvements
  • Work with teams across Product, Development, Support, Marketing, and Operations to gather information
  • Translate technical and business processes into clear, user-friendly content
  • Promote consistent standards, processes, and communication across platforms

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a software development or SaaS environment preferred
  • Experience creating user training materials, knowledge base content, or software documentation preferred
  • Tech-savvy with experience with documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, WordPress, Google Workspace, or similar platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with software development concepts such as Agile, APIs, integrations, environments, and release cycles preferred
