Technical Documentation Writer job at Compose.ly. Remote. We are looking for a technical writer to create content that speaks directly to developers.

You'll produce tutorials, getting started guides, API documentation, and blog posts that help developers adopt Courier quickly and use it with confidence. The ideal candidate is technical and an excellent communicator, comfortable working with APIs, SDKs, and developer tools, and able to turn that expertise into clear, approachable writing. We value a straightforward, friendly, no-nonsense style that helps developers get things done without jargon.

You should thrive with autonomy, taking projects from idea to publication, and enjoy explaining technical concepts in a way that helps developers solve problems and build faster. Objective To identify a high-quality technical writer with a strong development background to rewrite and maintain ongoing documentation for a growing SaaS product. The writer must be credible in technical circles and capable of improving existing material to a professional standard.

Profile Overview Client is seeking a technical writer who can align with product's documentation needs, has prior development experience, and brings a proactive, positive attitude. The ideal candidate should have experience with SaaS, API, and developer-focused content and be comfortable integrating with a fast-paced team. Scope Commitment: 70 hours/month Initial Trial: 3 month commitment Engagement: Potentially ongoing/indefinite based on performance Responsibilities Audit and rewrite existing technical documentation Evaluate and improve API documentation Collaborate with client and the dev/product team to ensure technical accuracy Conduct implementation-based exercises to simulate end-user experiences Create tutorials and developer-facing content based on product features Skills and Qualifications Strong background in software development (web or full-stack preferred) Experience in technical writing, especially for SaaS and API-based platforms Ability to evaluate and restructure documentation from a developer's perspective Previous work in Developer Relations (DevRel) a plus Clear communicator; able to take initiative and work independently Comfortable receiving direct feedback and integrating quickly with a team About Our Client Our clientisa notifications platform built for modern software.
