JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Document Writer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving technical documentation that supports engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operational processes across Module X Solutions. This role works closely with subject matter experts, engineers, production personnel, and quality teams to develop clear, accurate, and standardized documentation that supports product development, manufacturing operations, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Technical Document Writer plays a critical role in ensuring technical information is organized, controlled, and communicated effectively throughout the organization. This position supports the development of engineering procedures, manufacturing work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), product documentation, training materials, and customer-facing technical deliverables.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create, edit, format, and maintain technical documentation for engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operational functions.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to gather technical information and document processes.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Create and maintain document templates, standards, and formatting guidelines to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Support engineering change management by updating documentation related to product revisions, process changes, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Develop assembly instructions, installation guides, maintenance procedures, inspection plans, and technical manuals.
  • Assist with customer documentation packages, product data books, quality records, and project closeout documentation.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and manufacturing processes to ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Coordinate document reviews and approvals with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Manage document revisions and maintain version control within company document management systems.
  • Support quality initiatives by documenting corrective actions, process improvements, and quality procedures.
  • Create visual aids, flowcharts, process maps, diagrams, and supporting graphics to improve document effectiveness.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance documentation quality, usability, and accessibility.
  • Ensure documentation complies with customer requirements, company standards, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Maintain organized records and archives of technical documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical writing, engineering documentation, manufacturing documentation, or a related field.
  • Experience creating SOPs, work instructions, technical manuals, engineering procedures, or manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, construction, or technical environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting document control systems and revision management processes preferred.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and technical specifications preferred.

Education:
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Communications, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
