Job description

Job Title: Technical Data Steward
Location: Remote
Pay Rate: Open to Both C2C and W2 options
Position Type: Multiyear Contract

The Technical Data Steward is responsible for the technical data management,
governance, integrity and quality of Human Resources data assets for the HR Data
Warehouse (Azure) and its platforms. This role ensures that data is properly defined,
secured, governed, and usable across systems by partnering with HR business stewards,
HR Data Analytics team, engineering teams, and stakeholders.
Basic Description
Provide technical data stewardship support to the HR Data Analytics team in managing,
governing, and optimizing HR data assets. This role ensures data is accurate, secure, and
aligned with enterprise data governance standards to support analytics, reporting, and
strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
1. Data Governance & Standards

โ€ข Implement and enforce enterprise data governance policies, standards, and
procedures
โ€ข Ensure execution of governance workstreams, including:
o Metadata management
o Enterprise quality controls
o AI ready metadata
o Data quality
o Data lifecycle management
o Policies and standards compliance
โ€ข Monitor adherence to technical data standards and drive compliance across the
business area
2. Data Management & Technical Oversight
โ€ข Own technical data decisions on behalf of the Business Data Owner
โ€ข Provide subject matter expertise on:
o Source systems
o Data stores and warehouses
o ETL processes and pipelines
o Business intelligence tools
โ€ข Ensure proper implementation of data across systems and platforms
3. Metadata, Lineage & Cataloging
โ€ข Build and maintain a data catalog, including metadata and business glossary
โ€ข Ensure data definitions, rules, and standards are clearly documented and
consistently applied
โ€ข Capture and maintain data lineage (end-to-end technical flows)
4. Data Quality & Issue Resolution
โ€ข Drive root cause analysis of data quality issues and coordinate resolution with
Enterprise data and HR Analytics teams
โ€ข Assist in design and implementation data quality audits, controls, and monitoring
tools
โ€ข Plan and lead data cleansing and remediation initiatives
5. Security & Risk Management
โ€ข Partner with Information Security, HR Data Governance and HR Data teams to
implement controls such as:
o Role-based access (RBAC)
o Persona based access
o Row level access
o Encryption and data protection standards
โ€ข Ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability across platforms
6. Stakeholder Collaboration
โ€ข Partner with:
o Business Data Stewards
o Data Owners
o Data Engineering / IT teams
โ€ข Translate business requirements into technical data solutions
โ€ข Communicate impacts of data decisions across stakeholder groups
