Job Summary
The Technology Sales Manager plays a key role in driving growth across global refining, midstream, and petrochemical markets. This position blends technical expertise, commercial strategy, and relationship-focused sales, managing the full cycle from initial engagement through proposal development, negotiation, and award.
The ideal candidate brings a solid chemical engineering foundation, proven success selling technical solutions, and the ability to engage customers at multiple levels. They build long-term relationships, navigate complex decision paths, and represent advanced technologies with confidence and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop regional sales strategies to support revenue targets and long-term growth.
- Promote technology solutions through on-site visits, technical presentations, and consultative discussions.
- Identify and qualify opportunities using market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer relationships.
- Lead proposal development, collaborate with internal teams to shape scope, pricing, and commercial terms.
- Negotiate commercial agreements based on deal size, complexity, and strategic value.
- Serve as primary customer contact for all sales-related communication and follow-ups.
- Manage contractual documentation in partnership with Legal to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Develop account plans for major customers, including relationship mapping and long-term planning.
- Prepare monthly sales updates summarizing pipeline activity, key pursuits, and regional strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Support internal collaboration with Marketing, Technical, Contracts, and Proposal teams.
- Maintain strong EHS and compliance standards during site visits and international travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
- 5+ years of experience in refining, midstream, or petrochemical operations.
- 3+ years of technical sales experience in the oil & gas sector; licensed technology sales preferred.
- Strong knowledge of amine and caustic treating principles for sulfur/acid gas removal.
- Experience with spent caustic treatment or related environmental processes beneficial.
- Proven ability to engage customers at multiple organizational levels and navigate complex decision-making structures.
- Skilled presenter with strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Demonstrated success in building long-term global customer relationships.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or another relevant language preferred.
- Must be able to travel 45% or more domestically and internationally,
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Ability to complete site visits, including climbing ladders, wearing PPE, and working in refinery/plant environments.
