Job Summary:

If you're energized by leading teams, solving complex system challenges, and keeping critical operations running at peak performance, this role puts you right in the driver's seat. As the Systems Engineering Manager at Centrus Energy, you'll lead the team responsible for maintaining the integrity, reliability, and performance of plant systems that support mission-critical operations. From safeguarding design bases to enabling continuous improvement, you'll play a key role in ensuring the plant runs safely, efficiently, and effectively.
 

What You Will Do:

You'll build, lead, and mentor a team of systems engineers while providing technical oversight to ensure plant configurations remain aligned with design bases and safety requirements, including items relied on for safety (IROFS). You'll partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Design, and Construction teams to support system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement modifications that improve reliability and efficiency. Your role will include supporting startup and testing of new equipment, acting on behalf of design authority, and providing leadership with clear insights into system health, performance trends, and opportunities for improvement-all while ensuring cost-effective and compliant engineering solutions.
We'd Love to Hear from People With:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences, or equivalent technical experience 
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience supporting plant operations, maintenance, or system engineering functions
  • Strong understanding of system design, configuration control, and engineering fundamentals 
  • 4+ years of nuclear experience
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" level security clearance. 


In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.  Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made.  In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.  Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
