Job description

We are seeking a Nuclear Quality Manager to join the team at the Savannah River Site (SRS). The Nuclear Quality Manager will provide leadership, maintenance and oversight of the Nuclear Quality Management System. The Nuclear Quality Manager is responsible for managing day-to- day Nuclear QMS activities. The Nuclear Quality Manager will report directly to the company President.
The Nuclear Quality Manager coordinates the implementation, administration, and monitoring of the Nuclear Quality Management System. This role ensures compliance with established requirements, records any exceptions as necessary and provides suggestions and recommendations for changes to the Project Management Team.
Quality Manager Responsibilities:
โ€ข Has the overall responsibility for establishing, maintaining and assuring effective implementation of the NQA-1, Quality Management System.
โ€ข Ensures compliance with:
โ€ข ASME NQA-1:2019, Nuclear Quality Assurance.
โ€ข DOE Order 414.1D, 10 CFR 50 Appx. B, 10 CFR 830 sub. B, 10 CFR 21, and others.
โ€ข Assure governmental regulations, orders, legal, and statutory requirements are met.
โ€ข Ensures that indoctrination training is relevant, executed, and records of qualification and training are retained.
โ€ข Development and oversight of quality control processes.
โ€ข Ensures that receipt inspections, field inspections, and testing are effective.
โ€ข Support auditors in internal and external audits.
โ€ข Ensure that the Audit program complies with requirements, maintains audit competencies, addresses any corrective actions from the internal/external audit process in a timely manner, and verifies their effectiveness.
โ€ข Own the Non-Conformance and Corrective Action Program
โ€ข Review new/revised Quality Procedures and content to ensure compliance with changes in Nuclear Standards, associated standards or those required by the client.
โ€ข Engage with customers and gather work and services feedback.
โ€ข Implement a continuous improvement process.
โ€ข Manages Quality resources, coordinate quality staff to support the NQA-1 Program.
โ€ข Properly report to the NRC, customer, and upper management on significant conditions adverse to quality (SCAQ).
โ€ข Develops Management Review content and chairs meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, or Business.
โ€ข (15+) years Quality related experience; (10+) years in the nuclear industry (DOE and DOD facilities preferred).
โ€ข NQA-1-2019 - Requirements knowledge.
โ€ข Certified as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor or willing to obtain within 1st year of hire.
โ€ข ISO-17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories - Requirements knowledge or willingness to learn.
Additional Requirements:
โ€ข Must have a valid driver's license.
โ€ข Must be a U.S. Citizen.
โ€ข Must participate in pre-employment and random drug screening program.
โ€ข Subject to background screening process.
