We are currently looking for a Nondestructive Testing Inspector, Level II who takes pride in their work and rises to the challenge to deliver products that help protect the lives of those who serve. This position is based at our Louisville, Kentucky facility on the 1st Shift.
A well-qualified candidate for the Nondestructive Testing Inspector Level II currently holds and maintains nondestructive testing (NDT) certifications in methods including magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), and visual (VT). Training and experience records to be provided. Qualification/Certification obtained in accordance with SNT TC 1A and NAS 410.
Included duties:
  • Maintain and control NDT systems in accordance with written specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings including related specifications and process documents.
  • Evaluate product conformance using NDT MT, PT, and VT methods.
  • Perform structural/dimensional inspection of metallic and non-metallic materials.
  • Test hardness of various materials using full range of test equipment.
  • Perform limited dimensional inspection of raw material and machined components.
  • Work independently within the certified area of expertise with limited oversight.
  • Provide guidance, assistance, and training to customer, supplier, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Support the Louisville, KY site on the 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM with the possibility for OT.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • High School diploma, GED, or the overall equivalent.
  • Currently holds and maintains nondestructive testing (NDT) certifications in methods including magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), and visual (VT).
  • Certified or ability to acquire certification to perform Level II functions in MT, PT, and VT, in not greater than 12 weeks.
  • Experience using a full range of NDT related test equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in Quality control verifications of various manufacturing methods, such as welding, heat treat, plating, paint, etc.
  • Recordkeeping experience in relation to inspection and manufacturing methods.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings including related specifications and process documents.
  • Ability to interpret purchase order requirements and perform evaluations of submitted test reports and certifications.
  • Able to perform work independently within the certified area of expertise with limited oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and attentive to detail.
  • Able to effectively give guidance, assistance, and training to customers, suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Training and experience in ultrasonic, radiographic, and weld inspections a plus.
  • If needed, able to acquire certification to and perform limited level II functions in radiographic (RT) and ultrasonic (UT).

Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
