Status: Exempt, Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Assessment, Evaluation, and Accreditation of the Department of Catholic Schools (Leadership and Governance team), the School and Student Data Specialist will:

  • Optimize department use of technology available to collect, analyze and support school and student data to inform executive and regional decision making.
  • Identify, assess, recommended and operate student and school data platforms with school sites and the department.
  • Provide advice, counsel and support related to school and student data to department chiefs and superintendents to ensure delivery of projects and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

Empowering groups:

  • Provide technical backstop for school and student data management platforms for all department initiatives and reporting.
  • Provide capacity building opportunities to school leaders related to school and student data systems and data management issues.

Empowering leadership:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain department data dashboards.
  • Consult with administration on data reporting and data security issues where applicable.

Collaboration:

  • Compliment the Academic Data Specialist to unify academic performance data with school, student, archdiocesan and demographic data to build a full picture of the educational landscape.
  • Act as liaison with external and internal data suppliers to support effective compliance, reporting, and analysis.
  • Participate in professional growth activities and conferences to keep abreast of current and future trends in education and technology.

Systems and Troubleshooting:

  • Develop a systematic approach to assist with daily data reporting and technology optimization related issues and concerns.
  • Provide ongoing support for optimization of software applications, data transfers, and data reporting workflows.

Department Specific Areas of Focus:

  • Lead development and optimization of data systems, including the DCS Data Dashboard, School Condition Index (SCI), Regional School Stability Reports, annual census and other data collection reporting and analysis efforts.
  • Identify, develop and manage new and existing student information systems (SIS), content management systems (CMS), and other related data platforms with schools to improve data collection, analysis and reporting.
