We have an exciting opportunity as we are looking for an Analyst to join our Strategy and Corporate Development team.

SUMMARY

The Strategy and Corporate Development Analyst plays a critical role in shaping Westlake's long-term growth and competitive positioning. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to assess strategic opportunities, develop business cases, and drive execution of complex projects, including mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, and transformational initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in business analysis, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead financial and operational modeling and analytics to support strategic decision-making

  • Prepare M&A due diligence, valuation, structuring, and negotiations

  • Project management, particularly cross-functions and business integration and coordination

  • Assess and develop market strategies for entry, exit, expansion for review by decision makers

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in technical degree (engineering, science), business, or accounting. MBA preferred.

  • Typically requires 5+ years of work experience in Corporate Development, Venture Capital, Private Equity, or Investment Banking, with transaction and negotiations experience a plus.

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and project management skills. Maintains rigorous attention to detail, ensuring precision and reliability. Reviews work thoroughly to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare executive-level presentations and reports summarizing complex analyses and recommendations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels. Ability to convey complex ideas clearly and tailor messaging to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent organizational capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion. Proven ability to drive results in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.

  • Ability to work or attend meetings outside of traditional business hours or take on projects with limited or no notice at times. Ability to travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an open office concept. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
