Job description

About Edra
Edra is solving one of the hardest problems in enterprise AI: AI models are generic but company processes are specific. We build AI agents that learn how processes actually run, and then run their operations.
We're a Series A startup, backed by Sequoia and other leading VC firms, and we're growing our team in New York and London. We're a deeply technical team of engineers, AI researchers, and strategists with a high bar for talent and a shared belief that exceptional people are the foundation of everything great we'll build.
The Role
We're hiring our second operations hire: a generalist who can take full ownership of operational areas end-to-end as the business scales. Not tasks, not projects, but the systems, processes, and outcomes that drive the company forward.
Specific areas of ownership will shift based on company needs, spikes, and your strengths, but finance ops, sales ops, SOC 2 compliance, recruiting ops are all on the table early. As the company grows, so will the surface area.
A core part of this role is building operational infrastructure that's AI-native from the start. We're a small team and intend to stay lean, which means stitching together processes, systems, and workflows in ways that are AI-first but also stable, secure, and reliable. We don't want AI bolted on as an afterthought; we want it embedded in how we operate and scale.
What You'll Do
You'll own functional areas end-to-end, not by doing every task yourself, but by building the systems and processes that make each area run. At any given point you might be responsible for:
  • Finance ops: stand up the operational infrastructure around AP, expense management, tax compliance, and vendor procurement so it runs cleanly
  • Sales ops: create the deal support and contract workflows that let the commercial team move fast
  • Compliance: run a compliance program that scales with the company without becoming a bottleneck
  • Legal ops: build a legal coordination machine (templates, workflows, triage) that makes contract review seamless rather than ad hoc
  • Recruiting ops: design the systems around agency management, pipeline operations, and candidate process
  • Systems & tooling: stitch all of the above together with AI-first infrastructure that's secure, reliable, and built for a team that intends to move at scale and speed

The specific areas will evolve. The constant is full ownership: you design the system, build it, run it, and make it better over time.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience, with meaningful time in high-growth environments. Startup experience is a plus but not a requirement.
  • A genuine generalist who has worked across multiple functions and liked it. You're more interested in the shape of a problem than its domain.
  • AI-fluent: you already use AI tools in your day-to-day work and have good instincts for where they accelerate execution vs. where they introduce risk.
  • High ownership, low ego. You don't wait for permission to fix what's broken.
  • A strong written communicator. Much of this job will be translating complexity into clear docs, clean emails, and usable processes.
  • Someone comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete context.

Don't meet all of the above traits? We'd still love to hear from you. We're looking for exceptional people with unique skills and interests, and we know that great people have different backgrounds and skillsets.
