Sr. Data Science Analyst

We are seeking a highly technical, experienced data professional who serves as a subject matter expert and strategic partner across the organization. In this role, you will lead complex analytics initiatives, mentor junior team members, and deliver insights that inform clinical and operational decision-making. You will work closely with leadership and stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable strategies that improve performance and patient outcomes.

Location: Indianapolis, IN
The Scope:
This role supports IU Health's enterprise analytics and business intelligence efforts, including:
  • Building dashboards and delivering advanced reporting solutions for clinical and operational stakeholders
  • Conducting strategic analyses to solve complex business problems
  • Integrating and synthesizing data from multiple sources into meaningful insights
  • Partnering with stakeholders and leadership to identify opportunities and drive decision-making
  • Leading and supporting complex, technical projects with minimal oversight
  • Mentoring and guiding junior analysts to elevate team capability

The Sr. Data Science Analyst serves as a senior-level subject matter expert and key strategic partner, translating complex data into actionable insights that support organizational decision-making. This role ensures the effective use of financial and operational data, applies advanced analytical techniques to support business processes, and communicates findings clearly to stakeholders while driving system-wide performance and outcomes.
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Masters preferred
  • Requires Expert Level MS Excel, MS SQL Server, and MS SSRS skills
  • Ability to lead teams through complex, technical projects required
  • 7-10 years of experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in the healthcare industry required
  • Significant experience using Tableau, QlikView, Business Objects, Power BI, or other BI tools required
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare claims and billing process preferred
  • Knowledge of Indiana healthcare provider landscape preferred
