Job description

Title: Business & Strategy Analyst
Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 2 days remote per week
Focus: The Business & Strategy Analyst will serve as a key member of the Business Analytics & Strategy Team, responsible for supporting corporate analytical and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic background and mindset coupled with extensive experience in business and financial analytics.
Business & Strategy Analyst Essential Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve Olin market intelligence dashboard using Power BI.
  • Conduct complex business and strategic analyses; synthesize results into actionable business insights.
  • Report key findings and analyses to all levels of management at an appropriate level of detail in a clear, concise manner.
  • Utilize analytical tools (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, etc.) to efficiently analyze large data sets and extract impactful trends and market intelligence.
  • Prepare and deliver effective strategic and analytical presentations.
  • Lead and/or participate in the development of new strategic and analytical initiatives and ad hoc requests, as required.
  • Support the development of medium- and long-term strategic plans.
  • Develop and present on key industry market studies.
  • Analyze market trends and develop an internal view of impacts and actionable responses.

Business & Strategy Analyst Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering, Finance or Business disciplines; Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant analytical and strategic experience; chemical, petrochemical, or related commodities industry experience required
  • Understanding of chemical value chains
  • Proven business analysis and modelling skills
  • Advanced experience with analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Products
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn the organizational structure and work collaboratively within the team, cross-functional groups, and other business stakeholders.
