Description
Business Development Manager plays a leadership role in the development of sales for current and new markets. This individual develops and maintains strong and positive relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team. The Business Development Manager will support the company's growth plan and objectives through new business development, new account development, market research, and market development. This position will be a "hands-on" sales position to support the sales and marketing efforts at Alloy Precision Technologies (APT).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To expand APT business with new/existing customers and markets through proactive development and assigned duties. He/she will be assigned specific customers and/or markets to develop directly. He/she will be responsible for developing new plans and strategies to assist with administering the sales & marketing functions at APT. He/she will be responsible for conducting research and making recommendations on products, markets, and market strategies.
• The Business Development Manager will serve a key role to develop customer relationships and account strategies based on a deep understanding of the business operations and the product applications.
• The Business Development Manager will initiate and manage the department, cost and pricing, quotations, and negotiation of contracts.
• The Business Development Manager will use new and traditional media to keep the company up to date on the most effective means of communication and technology. When the business is presented with new opportunities, the Business Development Manager will assist the company in creating successful and cost-effective plans and implementing.
• The Business Development Manager will work cooperatively and coordinate with staff members, other required APT personnel, customers/ potential customers, and vendors in a supportive, positive team effort. Attitudes and approaches to all personnel are to be positive, business-like, and results-oriented. Develop assigned reports to communicate to the President & CEO and others at APT on issues, contacts, and needs for assigned work. This position requires strong communication and coordination in a cooperative, positive environment.
• Travel to current and target accounts, trade shows, and suppliers. Will be required to develop and maintain contacts and sound business relationships on behalf of APT.
Requirements
• A four-year college degree is preferred. In addition, a technical, industrial background is desired with five (5) or more years of industrial sales and marketing experience in an industrial environment.
• Must have a high level of energy, be results-oriented, confident, and have strong people skills. Must be able to establish and maintain a strong rapport and positive relationships with all levels of staff. Must be proactive and persistent, and able to handle multiple projects and customers simultaneously, as well as work within a very fast-paced, team environment.
• Specific experience in similar markets is a plus.
