Responsibilities

Manager of Business Development responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Summary: Driving sales growth with both current key accounts (QVC, Costco, Distributors, Resellers, etc), corporate gifting strategic initiatives and new business development. New business may include expanding the customer base as well as developing new revenue streams such as 3PL fulfillment, wine programs, cross-promotional relationships, or other new revenue concepts. Grow top and bottom line to meet annual business goals as assigned by the Kansas City Steak leadership team.
  • Essential duties and responsibilities:
    • Lead key account strategic sales and growth plans. Manage and grow QVC, HSN, Costco, and other key accounts.
      • Build relationships with company buyers and support staff.
      • Create growth strategies including products, pricing, marketing, and other initiatives to drive profitable growth.
    • Lead corporate gifting initiatives
      • Work with corporate gifting team to develop year-round and holiday strategies, communications plans, pricing plans, etc.
    • Develop profitable new revenue streams.
      • Build strategic plans for new business concepts and work with the Kansas City Steak internal teams to on-board new business opportunities.
      • Develop strategic business briefs for new business initiatives such as Wine, Hard Goods, or other profitable businesses.
      • Engage in new product development needed to support growth.
    • Work with finance team to create P&L assessments of current and new businesses to ensure ongoing profitability.
    • Understand and lead IT system changes and reporting needed for key accounts. Work with internal experts to build out IT needs for new customers such as Walmart, Kroger, and others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Manager of Business Development position should possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education & work experience within related position

  • Must be comfortable/experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power-Point. Linux and other related IT program experience a plus

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and project briefs

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from stakeholders, clients, customers

  • Must possess strong verbal skills to enhance relationships
