Motive Workforce is partnering with an innovative U.S. battery technology company to identify a Director of Business Development & Sales. This is an opportunity to lead strategic growth initiatives for a company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of battery packs, battery management systems (BMS), and battery manufacturing solutions serving motive and stationary energy storage markets.

Position Summary
The Director of Business Development & Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans that drive revenue growth and expand market share. This position requires a proven sales leader with experience building technical sales pipelines, developing customer relationships, and growing business within the battery manufacturing or energy storage industry.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the battery market, enjoys building long-term partnerships, and works effectively across engineering, product, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand market share.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline while identifying and closing new business opportunities.
  • Retain and grow existing customer relationships through effective account management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing teams to support business growth and strengthen market positioning.
  • Identify strategic opportunities that expand market presence and generate long-term revenue.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, forecast demand, and evaluate competitive activity within the battery industry.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience, including at least 5 years in a customer-facing business development or sales role.
  • Experience within the battery manufacturing, battery systems, or energy storage industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of battery technologies, manufacturing processes, and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated history of exceeding sales objectives and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactical sales initiatives.
