JOB TITLE:
Branding Iron Staff Writer, Student Media
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide news, feature or sports stories to newspaper for publication in print and/or online editions.
JFNTMP
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Produce at least three stories per week.
  2. Pick up assignments from section editor.
  3. Meet with section editor regularly.
  4. Create story ideas for consideration of section editor.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Full-time student
  2. Access to personal transportation
  3. Newspaper experience, including writing news stories.
  4. Must be available for publication deadlines on Sundays and Wednesday nights.
  5. Must be available Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for training.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Knowledge of AP and BI stylebooks
  2. Knowledge of basic journalistic style and how to write newspaper articles.
