Staff Specialist - Professional Development - Grant Writer

LOCATION(S):ย  Educational Resources- CTIย

DUTIES:ย  Dutchess BOCES'ย Educational Resources is looking forย a Staff Specialist to enhance our Team!ย  This Educational Resources Staff Specialist will focus on grant writing,ย acquisition, and oversight of grantsย for both Dutchess BOCES as anย agency and for our component districts. S/he will work with district administratorsย to research, design, write, and evaluate a variety of grant opportunities.ย ย S/he may facilitate someย professional development through workshops, consultancies, roundtables,ย and trainings as assigned throughout Dutchess BOCES and Dutchess County in areas of his/her expertise.ย  The main job expectations are to full fill the expectations of the Grant Support Services COSER.

  • Research, Plan, and collaborate with component districts and Dutchess BOCES on possible consortium grantย opportunities on which Dutchess BOCES and component districts canย collaborate and improve school resources, opportunities, and staff.
  • Oversee the Title III consortium including writing, managing, tracking funding,ย and working with partners to ensure Title III requirements are met.
  • Research and discuss agency and district needs and locate possible funding sources to meet their needs and communicate the opportunities to the districts.
  • Research funding opportunities to match needs to school districts.
  • Write and oversee grants for Dutchess BOCES and component districts as needed.
  • Communicate with NYSED or other entities before, during, and after submission and/or award of funding as needed.
  • Coach grant writers within district and edit district written grants when needed.
  • Facilitate the collection of letters of support, etc. for grants as they are written.
  • Attend training or professional development opportunities in or outside of New York State.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops in grant writing and other topics to support Educational Resources and countywide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Dutchess BOCES staff specialists on department goals.
  • Support the Dutchess BOCES schools and professional development initiatives where needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS: Holds a current NYS Teaching Certificate, SAS/SDA/SBL/SDL certification,ย  ย 3+ years of teaching experienceย and 3+ years of district level or building level administration. Experience with writing and management of grants is preferred.
