Senior Inventory Accountant

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Inventory Accountant:
  • Validate accounting transactions processed through both legacy and new ERP systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile financial results between systems and investigate discrepancies throughout the conversion process.
  • Analyze revenue activity to verify proper revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Review inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and gross margin reporting to ensure financial accuracy following system conversion.
  • Validate journal entries, account mappings, and financial reports generated within the ERP system.
  • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), document testing results, identify system issues, and validate corrective actions.
  • Support month-end close activities by verifying account balances and financial reporting for newly converted business units.
  • Document testing procedures, findings, and recommendations throughout the implementation process.
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, IT, and project teams to troubleshoot accounting and system-related issues.
  • Assist with process improvements and help ensure a smooth transition to the new ERP environment.
Qualifications of the Senior Inventory Accountant:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and gross margin analysis.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, system conversions, data validation, or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or other ERP systems preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and financial data analysis.
