Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Solar Account Manager to join our Residential Solar team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving our residential solar business by effectively promoting and selling our solar solutions to homeowners. From initial contact to closing the sale, the Solar Account Manager will be responsible for guiding customers through the solar sales process, addressing their questions and concerns, and ultimately helping them make informed decisions about going solar.

This role is full-time and offers competitive benefits, base salary + commission, and has great opportunities for personal and professional growth in a booming industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generate and qualify leads for residential solar through working an assigned territory, including referrals, in an outside sales outreach effort.

  • Engage with prospective customers to understand their energy needs, assess their eligibility for solar, and present the benefits of our solar solutions.

  • Conduct thorough in-person consultations and presentations to educate customers on the features of our solar products, including cost savings, maintenance, terms, and financing when applicable.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and customer support, to ensure smooth processing of lease agreements and installations.

  • Build confidence, generate excitement, and maintain consumer interest by using listening and negotiation skills when confronted with objections, skepticism, conflicts, etc. and counters with specific alternatives.

  • Effectively manage full cycle sales process by maintaining accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status using multiple Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

  • Properly manage time to ensure prospecting activities, customer communications, project management duties, and in-person meetings are efficiently completed.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing ongoing support and addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive offerings to effectively position our lease products in the market.

  • Achieve and/or exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the company.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a passion for renewable energy and sustainability.

  • Ability to manage multiple consumer contact methods including, but not limited to, in-person, phone, email, and online inquires.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven track record in sales, preferably in the energy/solar industry or related field.

  • Proven ability to maintain and prioritize job related tasks.

  • Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook and PowerPoint).

  • Understanding of residential solar products, financing options, and industry dynamics is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to interpret, analyze and evaluate information relative to selling techniques.

  • Highly entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to succeed.

  • Able to think critically and adapt to a dynamic market. Comfortable and can effectively work in an outside sales/remote environment.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work outdoors daily with exposure to an outside environment, which includes inclement weather. The employee is regularly required to drive, sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger and be able to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs (iPad, training binders, marketing materials, etc.).

Minimum Education, Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related professional experience is preferred.

  • Hours may vary by season

  • Valid Driver's license with a good driving record, a reliable personal vehicle, auto insurance coverage that satisfies the minimum requirement for the state.

  • Experience with residential/direct to consumer sales and CRM software is preferred.

  • Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time for quarterly training events, sales meetings and team events.

Note: Work hours vary by season. Evenings and some Saturdays required.

Salary Range:

$45,000.00 - $50,000.00

* This range reflects total earnings opportunity, inclusive of commissions and bonuses.

This role is also eligible for an uncapped sales commission.During your transition period, you may be eligible for an annual minimum commission of $25,000.
