Job description

Business Development Representative
Join a talented team delivering immersive virtual environments and industry leading simulation-based training solutions for the world's top manufacturers and training organizations. CM Labs Simulations is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Business Development Representative and dynamically grow our existing base of customers. The position calls for an entrepreneurial self-starter with tenacity and ambition.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Research and prospect into electric, gas, water, and utility construction accounts to identify opportunities tied to operator training, safety, and skills development initiatives.
  • Develop relationships with utility contractors, training organizations, and utility operations leaders to identify equipment training needs, procurement cycles, and key decision-makers.
  • Initiate contact with potential customers through cold calling or other outbound methods
  • Create relationships with prospects to identify their potential needs and qualify their interest and viability to drive sales
  • Work closely with other teams to develop account intelligence, relationship maps, and use case opportunities through direct prospect engagement and insight tools
  • Track funding windows, grant cycles, and training budget timelines to time outreach and proposals for maximum impact.
  • Map and engage stakeholders across utility organizations, including operations managers, safety leaders, training teams, and procurement contacts, to align simulator use cases with workforce development and field readiness goals.
  • Present product information to prospects once needs have been identified
  • Be the first point of contact for all inbound inquiries
  • Move solid leads through the marketing funnel, by arranging in person demos, responding to questions and connecting them with a sales rep
  • Perform regular follow-up calls or emails
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing executives to ensure the company goals and targets are met
  • Manage data for new and prospective clients ensuring all communications are logged, and information is accurate

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; a technical background
  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in tech, software sales, or within a utility construction related environment an asset
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • A thirst for knowledge regarding products as well as selling techniques
  • Strong resilience skills and determination traits
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with a dynamic personality
  • Comfortable presenting to non-technical stakeholders, including operations leaders, safety personnel, and training managers, and leading prospect-facing discovery meetings.
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Salesforce and HubSpot CRM experience an asset
  • Experience in working with marketing teams to build programs is also an asset
  • Must be based in the Orlando / Central Florida area
