Job description

General Purpose Supports the Utah Small Business Development Center Network (SBDC) and the Business Resource Center (BRC) the mission of Davis Technical College (DTC) and the College community by providing quality small business management and entrepreneurship skills through counseling and consultation. Maintains a positive and productive learning environment by working collaboratively with small businesses, SBDC and BRC clients, incubator tenants, BED team, DTC faculty students and College partners. The SBDC Counselor leads, innovates, educates, communicates, advocates, motivates, delegates, builds trust, empowers others, directs change, and improves the Davis Tech Business Resource Center, College and community stakeholders by contributing to small business success.

This position is about 10 - 25 hours a week. Job Focus * Counsels, evaluates and directs new startups, existing businesses and entrepreneurs to accomplish successful business launches and/or growth and operational improvements. * Advises, mentors, and proactively interacts with clients to foster a productive learning and training environment.

* Provides instruction, monitors progress, and advises clients and students on business best practices. * Assists in operating the SBDC in conjunction with policies and procedures required by the SBA, the Utah SBDC Network, and Davis Technical College under the direction of the Director of SBDC. * Takes ownership of SBDC goals as jointly developed by the local SBDC, Utah SBDC lead center and Davis Technical College.

* Tracks critical metrics by entering client data into the SBDC customer relationship management software and assist in collecting client growth assessment surveys. * Formulates ecosystems partnerships and keep up to date contacts with strategic business partners. * Interacts with clients in an atmosphere of efficient, effective, and timely communication.

* Helps to implement and facilitate entrepreneurial training programs and workforce development, as needed. * Helps coordinate and facilitate BRC programs and events, as needed. * Encourages and exemplifies professionalism and good work habits.

* Works cooperatively within the BRC management team, the BED team, Davis Technical College, and business community under the direction of the SBDC Director. * Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in business administration, professional sales, marketing, or related field.

* Five (5) years experience in small business ownership/management and/or entrepreneurship, three (3) of those years as abusiness owner. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet this requirement. * Must have proven ability to teach, consult and lead, including the ability to act as an advocate for the SBDC Davis Tech, the Business Resource Center and DTC.

* Ability to work a flexible schedule, and may require evening and weekend hours. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bilingual in Spanish. * Customer relationship management software experience.

* Knowledge of accounting software, specifically QuickBooks online. * Use of Artificial Intelligence Process/Application Davis Technical College complies with all aspects of the ADA and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
